I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever, and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world. ( John 6:51)
Jesus instituted the sacrament of Eucharist at the Last Supper through the sacrifice of his Precious Body and Blood. It is the gift we celebrate at each and every Mass through the breaking of the bread. The sacrament of the Eucharist completes the sacraments of Christian Initiation, which include Baptism and Confirmation.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that the Eucharist is the "source and summit" of the Christian life. ( CCC 1324)

This program is for children and teens over the age of 7, who are not Baptized or Baptized in another faith and wish to join the Catholic church. The program is at least a two-year program or could be longer, depending on the child/teen.
During the first year, your child/teen will attend their grade-level Faith Formation classes. This class will include lessons on Church Traditions, prayers, building friendships with peers, and Sacred Scripture.
In the second year, they will attend FF classes and meet each Wednesday from 6:45 pm-8 pm. These classes will help them understand the Catholic faith on a deeper level and prepare them to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation.
In addition, the parents will attend a class on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. The class must be attended by at least one parent, hopefully, both parents.
The students are evaluated throughout the year and if ready, the student will receive their Sacraments at the Easter Vigil. There is no time set on receiving Sacraments, it is when the child/teen is ready.
