Preparation Classes are required for BOTH parents before baptizing their child.

Infant Baptism Preparation Classes Requirements:

• This is a 3-hour class in English and Spanish, usually held monthly on a Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
• No children will be allowed. Please make arrangements prior to attending the class.
• Please click on Step 2 to guide you through the dates we will offer baptism preparation for parents.

• We open Baptism preparation about 6 weeks prior to the date, and the same goes for Baptism ceremony Reservations.

• All baptism classes MUST be attended at St. Faustina; if you cannot participate in classes with us for any reason, you will need to request permission to attend baptism classes outside our parish.
• Godparents are strongly encouraged to attend the preparation classes but are not required. 
• It is recommended that classes be attended during pregnancy so that the child can be baptized as soon after birth as possible.
• The infant baptism preparation classes are valid for three years from the time they were taken. (Online courses are not valid.) If baptism classes were taken at another parish, you would need a Verification of Completion of Baptism Preparation Class for both parents.

• Verification of Completion of Infant Baptism Preparation Class for both parents. If parents attended a Baptism Preparation class within the past three years at a parish other than St. Faustina Catholic Church, you will need to obtain and submit a verification of where and when the class was completed.
• Official Birth Certificate. We will need a copy of your child’s official Birth Certificate as soon as possible in the process. The latest this copy may be submitted is 2 weeks prior to your scheduled baptism in order to create your child’s Baptismal Certificate.
• Parish Registration. If you are a registered member of another Catholic parish, you must also provide a letter of permission from the pastor of your parish to have the Baptism at St. Faustina Catholic Church.

Requirements for Being a Godparent:

A Godparent must be a Catholic who has been confirmed and received First Eucharist and is a practicing Catholic. If married, they must be in a valid Catholic marriage. According to Canon Law, “there is only one male sponsor or one female sponsor, or one of both.” (CCL #873). A baptized non-Catholic may serve as a Christian witness if there is only one Catholic godparent.

Our Baptism Ceremony is usually celebrated on the 2nd Saturday of each month* at 9:00 am in English and 10:30 am in Spanish.

To make a reservation for the Baptism Ceremony, you MUST complete all requirements and email us a copy of your child's birth certificate.

Please note: The date of Baptism is not confirmed until a confirmation email is received from the St. Faustina Baptism Coordinator. We strongly encourage you not to make any party plans or travel arrangements until a date has been secured and confirmed with the Baptism Coordinator. BAPTISM PREPARATION AND CEREMONY requirements

If your child has received Emergency Baptism in a medical emergency, please email us at baptism@saintfaustinachurch.org. This will be a different process if you wish to complete the Rite.
