Rev. Msgr. Chester L. Borski was born in Grimes County, TX in 1941. He was the sixth of nine children born to Vance and Lucy Borski. He was baptized at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson, TX. He grew up on his family's cotton farm and attended public schools in Navasota, Courtney, and Hempstead. He graduated from Hempstead High School in 1959. Declining a scholarship to Texas A&M University, he chose to enter St. Mary's Seminary in Houston and completed his college-level priestly formation in 1964. Afterward, Bishop John L. Morkovsky sent him to the North American College in Rome where he studied at the Gregorian University and was ordained a priest at St. Peter's Basilica on December 21, 1967.
Msgr. Borski has served as a parochial vicar at three Houston parishes: St. Christopher's, Holy Name, and Blessed Sacrament. In the early 1970s he completed graduate studies at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He was then appointed as the Diocesan Director of Religious Education and later the Vicar of Education. In 1978 Bishop Morkovsky appointed him to the faculty of St. Mary's Seminary, where he would serve as Vice Rector and then as Rector (serving in this capacity for 19 years). In 2001 he became the pastor of Sts. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus parish in Kingwood, TX. He retired from administrative work in 2018 and moved to St. Mary's Seminary, where he served as a spiritual director. At the same time, Msgr. Borski began assisting with weekend Masses and Confessions at St. Faustina.
In the summer of 2023, he made his residence at the new rectory and continues to assist the pastor with ministry in the parish. Over the years, Msgr. Borski has enjoyed visiting with family and friends and sharing time with others through camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing.
