First Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a sacrament of healing because it reconciles us with God through his merciful love and forgiveness of our sins.
The Sacrament of Eucharist is celebrated along with the Sacrament of Reconciliation for 2nd graders and older. For students, enrollment in a full-time faith formation program (CCE, Home Study, or Catholic school) is required for a minimum of one year immediately prior to and during the sacramental preparation year so that there is a foundation of the faith upon which the child can go deeper with during sacramental preparation.
PREPARATION FOR FIRST RECONCILIATION AND COMMUNION
During the second year of Faith Formation may register for our Sacrament Preparation program, which is our preparation program for First Reconciliation and First Communion.To register for Sacrament Preparation:

The child must be Baptized in the Catholic faith

They must be at least 7 years of age

Entering the second grade or higher

Completed one full year of Faith Formation or Catholic School Education the year immediately prior to the Sacrament Preparation year and be currently enrolled in our Faith Formation program or a Catholic School.

A copy of your child’s Baptism certificate is required upon registration

CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
The preparation process is available for children with special needs in various formats to suit your child's particular needs.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION(RCIA) FOR YOUTH
This program is for children and teens over the age of 7, who are not Baptized or Baptized in another faith and wish to join the Catholic church. The program is at least a two-year program or could be longer, depending on the child/teen.
During the first year, your child/teen will attend their grade-level Faith Formation classes along with additional lessons in Church Traditions, prayers, and Sacred Scripture.
The second year they will attend FF classes and meet 3 times a month. These classes will help them understand the Catholic faith on a deeper level and prepare them to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation. The students are evaluated throughout the year and if ready, the student will receive their Sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
